In 2016, I visited the “America meets Europe” symposium in Germany with several colleagues from the Czech Republic, which was ...
the most important event on interdisciplinary cooperation in dentistry that has been held in Europe in recent
years. The USA was represented by Dr. V. Kokich Jr. (orthodontist), Dr. G. Kinzer (prosthodontist) and Dr. J. Janakievski
(implantologist). This “young dream team” completely captivated everyone with their lectures based on excellent
didactics, systematic and outstanding results and we hoped that one day they would visit the Czech Republic as well.
And we did it! The main part of the XXIII. Congress of the Czech Orthodontic Society will be a 1.5-day course, which will
be conducted by Dr. V. Kokich Jr., Dr. G. Kinzer and Dr. J. Janakievski together, which will also be the fi rst time in Europe.
The second day of the congress will continue with lectures by the most important interdisciplinary teams from the Czech
Republic – 3DK Praha (M. Tomeček and J. Streblov in cooperation with Stomma Praha), Nové Zuby (A. and J. Krug in
cooperation with Prof. R. Foltán and J. Petr), Sorriso (L. Gregor and V. Filipi) and Stomma (I. Marek, M. Novosad and J.
Stibal). Presentation of all team members on one stage is not common at all and we have a lot to look forward to.
Due to the main topic of the congress, it is logical that it will be held in close cooperation with the Czech Academy of
Dental Aesthetics. All speakers will give presentations focused on the interconnection of dental disciplines, and therefore
the congress will be extremely interesting for all specialists and practicing dentists and they will be able to register only
for the fi rst 2 days dedicated to interdisciplinary cooperation.
The third day of the congress will be in the traditional scheme of the congresses of the Czech Orthodontic Society including
postgraduate competition lectures; “out of box” lecture which to our delight will be held by Dr. Radkin Honzák.
I am also extremely honoured that the honorary membership of the Czech Orthodontic Society will be awarded at this
Congress to the long-time president of the Czech Orthodontic Society and my personal friend, Dr. Jiří Petr, who will also
give the Dr. Bedřich Neumann honorary lecture.
In order to enable as many of you as possible, both orthodontists and dental practitioners, to participate in this exceptional
event we have chosen the Cubex congress centre as the venue, which has proved its worth in organising the 3rd World
Congress of Tooth Transplantation as it provides ample space for both participants and companies and has excellent
technical facilities.
Of course, the Congress will also have its social part and you can look forward to the President`s Reception in the premises
of the Slavonic House in the style of the 1930s.
We look forward to seeing you in Prague and wish you a pleasant spring time!
On behalf of the Organising Committee
